Margaret Obi qualified as a solicitor in 1998. She is a former Deputy High Court Judge (2018-2024). Her current judicial and quasi-judicial roles include Deputy Upper Tribunal Judge of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber, Acting Judge of the Supreme Court of the British Indian Ocean Territory, Deputy Chair of the Regulatory Decisions Committee of the Financial Conduct Authority and Member of the Determinations Panel of The Pensions Regulator. Her other work includes advising defence teams in relation to investigations undertaken by the Serious Fraud Office and the National Crime Agency, allegations of war crimes in the International Criminal Court, and disputes between states in the International Court of Justice.
