Nomination of Lord Doherty to act as Chairman of the Competition Appeal Tribunal
The President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal is pleased to announce that the Lord Chancellor has appointed 4 new members to the panel of chairmen of the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
Notes:
Section 82 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (which came into force on 27 May 2015 pursuant to statutory instrument 2015 No.1333) amended section 12(2) of the Enterprise Act 2002 to enable the Lord President of the Court of Session in Scotland to nominate judges of the Court of Session to sit as chairmen of the Competition Appeal Tribunal. This is the first occasion on which that power has been exercised.
